This interactive workshop will look at ways to respond to comments about the
choice individuals make to 'go fair trade'. It will provide participants with
tips on how to answer the difficult questions posed by friends, family, and
target audiences. Through role playing and open discussion, those who attend
will be inspired to be confident, convincing and convicted about fair trade.

Topic: Fair trade awards for universities
The Fair Trade University initiative has been set up as an award program for
universities who support fair trade and are committed to the procurement of
fair trade products. Monash University will be looked at as a case study, its
experiences highlighting issues to do with university structures, different
groups, and barriers to be faced and overcome. Those who attend this workshop
will be provided with the opportunity to discuss how their own universities
can be converted to fair trade.

Topic: Campaigning tools
As part of the team who work on the Make Poverty History campaign and Oxfam's
Make Trade Fair campaign, Terry Robb is a presenter with a wealth of experience.
This workshop will include an overview of these two campaigns, and examine what
was successful, what wasn't and why. Some of the tools, techniques and key lessons
to learn when campaigning will be highlighted with opportunity for group discussion
and brainstorming.
